Birth Alarm
Hurray! A foal is coming. Your mare is pregnant and you want to make sure you're around for the happy occassion? A Birth Alarm will send an emergency message to your mobile when your mare is in labour. As soon as the pregnant horse lies down flat on her flanks the birth alarm dials your cell phone number after 7,6 seconds. This sounds precise, but research has shown that a contraction lasts at least 7 seconds. The Birth Alarm Premium and Birth Alarm Lite 2.0 are safe tools for your horse and are very easy to install on a halter or on an anti-roll girth.
What if my mare sleeps on her side?
For a small group of mares which lie flat whilst sleeping, Birth Alarm developed a sleeping mode. The advanced Birth Alarm Premium and Birth Alarm Lite 2.0 both offer the sleeping mode option. This option will track how long your mare lies down for so you won't be called to the stables for no reason. If a mare is laying fully sideways for more than 3 minutes, the Birth Alarm will register this as resting time and the system will reset. Research shows that when a mare is going into labour, the contractions never last longer than 2.5 minutes. This means that after those 2.5 minutes she will get back out of the sideways position to prepare for her next contraction. With half a minute safety margin, the 3 minutes are far from random.
With Birth Alarm, there will be no more sleepless nights! You will receive an alert as soon as the mare's contractions begin, allowing you to arrive in time for the foul's birth. Don't miss out on the birth of your foal and order your Birth Alarm at Epplejeck Horse & Rider Superstores. Unfortunately, the rental of a birth alarm is only available to residents of the Netherlands.
