At Epplejeck, we want you to shop with a safe feeling. Therefore, we would like to explain why we use your data, how we do it, who has access to it and for how long we keep it.

These parties use your data only to perform their task for Epplejeck and must comply with our privacy rules. In exceptional cases, such as fraud or suspicious situations, we are required to share data with government agencies.

How is your data secured?

The entire Epplejeck website is encrypted with an SSL certificate. Our website is secured with an SSL certificate, ensuring all data is transmitted via a secure HTTPS connection ('S' stands for 'secure'). Additionally, we secure your data with login credentials, password protection, SHA encryption, and other encryption techniques.
Processing agreements have been signed with the companies that process personal data on our behalf. It is documented that these companies take the technical and organizational measures necessary to secure your data. They shall constantly ensure an adequate level of security of the systems in which the personal data are processed. In addition, there is an obligation of confidentiality with regard to the personal data they process

Where is your data stored?

Your data is safely stored in well-secured databases. This is almost always done within the European Union. If data is stored outside the EU, we ensure that your privacy remains protected in the same way.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not keep your data longer than necessary, after that we delete or anonymize it. These are the retention periods we use:
  • We delete recorded phone calls after 30 days, unless there is a legal reason to keep them longer
  • We retain camera images from our stores for up to 4 weeks, unless there is an investigation
  • Inactive customer accounts are deleted after 7 years
  • Invoice, payment and order data are retained for 7 years due to our administrative obligations.
  • Repair or replacement requests are retained for 7 years
  • Consent to newsletters or personalized messages we keep for 5 years; unsubscribes we also keep to respect your choice
  • Data for fraud investigation we keep as long as necessary

What are your rights?

You always have the right to see what data we have on you. Through your account you can view, modify or delete this data. You can also:
  • Object to the use of your data for marketing purposes
  • indicate that your privacy is more important than our interests
  • transfer your data to another party (data portability)
  • unsubscribe from newsletters via your account or the link at the bottom of each newsletter
  • disable cookies in your browser settings
