With lots of little presents, you can really sweeten up someone's December this year. And honestly, what is better than to share an advent calendar with your horse?
Let's be honest, you're never too old for an advent calendar. Whether young or old, everyone is happy to open a door every day in December, leading up to Christmas, with a small gift hidden behind. So attention all horse lovers, today we will show you how to make your loved ones feel special. We have picked out very different products that are perfect for a DIY advent calendar, both for riders and horses.
Our DIY last minute advent calendar is filled with great little gifts, each under 15€ and all available in our webshop. To recreate the calendar you need 24 bags, boxes or simply wrapping paper in which you can wrap the little presents. In addition, 24 number stickers or alternatively a thick pen with which you can write the numbers on the packages. If you like, you can use more stickers or other decorations to make it even more Christmassy.
The presents
Tastes and preferences are known to be very different, so it is important that you adapt the gifts to the preferences of the person who will receive the advent calendar. You can also buy more inexpensive or more expensive products, depending on how much money you want to spend. We have chosen a very colorful mixture of products, both for the horse and for the rider, because after all, not only the rider, but also his four-legged friend should be happy about small gifts during the holiday season. We've put together 16 different products, each with a value between 2.50€ and 11.95€.
The remaining doors, or rather packages, you can fill with yummy sweets, chocolate and nuts. After all, this is not only about great gifts, but also the loving gesture and who is not happy about delicious sweets around Christmas time?
The wrapping
When wrapping, you can let your creativity run wild. Rather plain and classy or colorful and eye-catching, that is entirely up to you. We decided to use brown wrapping paper. This does not look special, but is nice and simple and stable enough to hold all products well. In addition, you can decorate, each package individually with stickers and other things. This gives the advent calendar a personal touch. There are no limits to your creativity when it comes to decorating the packages, for example, you can simply tape the wrapping with transparent tape or wrap them in gift ribbon and close them with a pretty bow. A part of the gift boxes you can also provide with sweet Christmas stickers or attach special pendants in Christmas motifs that you particularly like. You can then even reuse them or use them for decoration. It looks especially nice if you put the 24 packages in a large cardboard box, and this additionally decorated with one or two fir branches and beautiful, thick pine cones. When the package is opened, it smells directly wonderful Christmas and you can use the branches and cones to decorate the Advent calendar when she takes it out of the box and puts it up in her apartment.
If you want to give a smaller and cheaper advent calendar, you can of course choose a different ratio between gifts and sweets and, for example, wrap small treats such as chocolate, nuts and also horse treats on the weekdays and only hide a gift behind the doors on the four Sundays in advent, on Christmas Eve and Christmas. You have the freedom of choice and can design the advent calendar according to your own ideas and the preferences of the person receiving the calendar.
