Checklist for competitions

We probably all know it: competition stress! You have to think about many different things when packing for a competition, and sometimes you might need a little help remembering essential items. In this blog, we will guide you through the Epplejeck competition checklist. The checklist will be your perfect assistant; you can confidently and carefree go to the competition with your favourite four-legged friend.

Tips from Epplejeck before heading to a competition

It's best to keep an eye on the start list to estimate when to start with the preparations. These can change even last minute. If you have an early morning start, you can braid your horse's mane the evening before. You can use a few handy tools to ensure the braids stay neat the following day.

After your horse is washed and beautifully groomed, there is nothing better for your horse than a nice roll and rub their mane. Say goodbye to your perfect braids and clean horse... This elastic neck cover keeps the neck clean, and your beautiful braids remain intact.

Hairspray for tight and beautiful braids without loose hairs. Spray directly on the mane after brushing it out. Braid It Up provides a good grip, making it quick and easy to braid the mane. It can also be lightly sprayed after braiding for optimal hold. It can also be used the evening before.

Of course, you can also use Braid It Up and Sleazy on the day when braiding, as they will keep the braids extra neat before entering the ring!

Additionally, it is essential to ask someone in advance willing to accompany you as a groom to the competition.

Arriving at the show venue one hour in advance is best to avoid stress. It is always handy to have extra hands for warm-up, reading the test, and, of course, at showjumping competitions to have someone raising the jumps in the warmup.
To avoid stress, arriving at the show venue one hour in advance is best. This way, you will have plenty of time to check in and sign up, find out where you need to ride, tack up, and warm up your horse.

Packing the necessary items for the competition
