The Buzz-Off Full Neck is made from strong, fine mesh fabric. The fabric is breathing and mosquitoes won't be able to penetrate it and bite your equine friend. The rug covers virtually the entire body, as it has a long neckpiece with browband, large tailflap and extra wide, elastic belly flap. Shoulder darts improve the freedom of movement around the shoulders and a smooth nylon lining ensures comfort and prevents chafe spots.
The Buzz-Off is available in blue and in a zebra print. Research has shown that zebras repel flies in a natural manner thanks to their stripy motif. The stripes disorient the flies, because these insects have an infrared view and the combination of the black and white lanes in a wavy pattern have a highly disorienting effect.
The fabric of these rugs is UV-protective and prevents about 70% of the UV-rays to reach the skin which will reduce the chance of sun burns and coat decoloration. This means your horse is staying cool more easily with this rug than without.
In case of extremely hot weather the rug might slow down the evaporation of sweat on your horse which means your horse might feel wet to the touch. However, the rug is still a more comfortable solution than direct sunlight thanks to the sunscreen features.
