F.R.A. stands for Freedom Riding Articles and has several innovative products in its range which are briefly explained here below, including the hoof boots, hoof rasps and various bitless bridles.
Hoof Boots
The hoofs are the cornerstone your horse relies on. Hoofs endure immense pressure especially when galloping or jumping. In such cases, hoof boots will function as shock absorbers whilst horse shoes simply don't, because the hoof boot's sole is made of high-quality thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Additionally, the hoof boots don't interfere with the hoof mechanism, because it leaves plenty of room for the hoof to expand and contract and thus ensures proper blood circulation. When using hoof boots you no longer damage the horse's hoof, like you would when using horse shoes as nails are a thing of the past. All these things improve hooves health and stimulate healthy growth.
Furthermore, the hoof boots are a useful tool in case you wish to transition to riding without any shoeing. By using boots your horse can get used to riding 'barefoot'. The hoof will get stronger and wear less. Of course, this is only the case when riding on paved roads regularly.
The
F.R.A. Cavallo hoof boots have velcro closures on the front which means they can be fastened in one quick move. The boot has an anatomically correct shape to perfectly fit around the hoof. A heightened inner sole reliefs pressure from the hoof sole. The boot is comfortable and the anatomic shape protects the hoof bulb as well. The top has a foam-filled collar for extra comfort. The hoof boot F.R.A..® Cavallo is relatively light and lighter than a regular horse shoe. When using the right size there is no reason to lose the boot. The boot is also extremely durable, however, the intensity of use does play a part in this.
Apart from hoof boots Epplejeck also offers the
F.R.A. cavallo pastern wraps. These wraps offer extra protection of the coronet and hoof bulb within the shoe. It's made from super elastic neoprene and high-density foam. Another accessory is the gel pad. The
F.R.A. Cavallo Gel pads offer extra comfort and can easily be cut to size. The gel pad is shock-absorbing and improves blood circulation whilst preventing fatigue.

Hoof Rasp
Hoof care is an important part of horse care. The position and condition of the hooves largely determine the well-being and musculoskeletal system of a horse. Cleaning and trimming is important at all age stages. Ailments such as rock jet, fungal infections and ulcers are just as common in young and old horses. In our large assortment of hoof care products, you will also find the F.R.A. Hoof Rasp, a simple hollow-shaped hand rasp which helps you take care of the hooves. This rasp is available in two versions, a
Coarse Rasp (red) for removing more hoof wall and a
Fine Rasp (yellow) for a smooth finish. The rasp easily removes excess hoof wall and rounds off the edge of the hoof wall in a very simple way. They are very lightweight with an ergonomic grip and easy to use. The blades can be easily replaced and swapped by simply sliding the blades out and pushing back in.
It is important to know that the use of the hoof rasp is in addition to a regular visit by the farrier. It never replaces the trimming itself! Make sure that your horse is regularly trimmed by a skilled farrier.
Bitless bridles
Horse riding has nothing to do with strength. Being able to ride with a gentle hand depends on the rider's skill and independence of the seat. Many riders are looking for a way to train their horse naturally and F.R.A. offers a wide range of
bitless bridles and training equipment. F.R.A. has developed a bitless bridles riding system (see below), where you can find 5 systems in bitless bridles. This tool can help you on your way to choose which variant is suitable for you and your horse. Several factors play a role in the choice, but the starting point is: the more sensitive a horse is, the less need there is for rein effect.
