Time flies, and Christmas is just around the corner! If you ask a rider what they want, the answer is usually: "Oh, something for the horse". And then you stand there, not knowing what to do, because "something for the horse" is a rather broad term. But don't worry, help is at hand!
I'm sure you've already noticed it in my previous
advent calendar blog. I'm one of those people who plan to do really great things, but then the year goes by far too quickly and suddenly everything has to be done in a hurry again. That's exactly why I'm in a rush in December to get all the presents together in time. To make sure that you don't feel the same way as I do, I have prepared some gift tips that riders are sure to enjoy!
Top 3 gift ideas for riders
The absolute classics! You can't really go wrong with a pretty hat and scarf set. After all, riders brave all weathers to go to their favourites in the stables, and that can get particularly cold and uncomfortable in winter. The warm accessories come in many different colours and variations, from practical to playful, and most of them can be worn during a stroll through town or a walk in the woods as well as during the daily mucking out of the paddocks.
Ok, this is not only about the rider but also about the horse, but believe me ... the rider is much more happy about this! I’m talking about a trendy saddle pad with matching leg protectors or bandages. There is a large selection ranging from simple to elegant, sporty, playful to particularly eye-catching. Optionally, you can also give a matching fly veil or, if you want to give a particularly generous gift, a fleece rug.
Riding gloves. I like to wear riding gloves made of high-quality materials that provide optimal grip as well as the necessary sensitivity when riding. However, I often tend to go for the cheaper option, because sooner or later I will lose a glove and end up with only three left gloves. Therefore, a high-quality pair of riding gloves can be an absolute luxury for riders and thus the perfect gift!
Top 3 gift ideas for horses
If a horse could write its own wish list,
treats would probably be at the top! Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), they lack the thumbs to write. We can only guess what our horses would like. However, as I have two foodies in the stable, I can be sure that I won't go wrong with treats. And it's certainly not just me! The only things that are important to know are the favourite kind or absolute no-go's. While my older mare loves herbal treats, my gelding prefers apple flavour.
One of our top sellers and therefore a favourite with both humans and horses is
Hayplay - The Original. It is filled with hay and is the perfect activity in the stable or paddock, which also provides something to eat. The horse is happy about the food and the human is happy that the animal is busy and gets its food in a playful way.
Even though our horses would probably not put this product at the top of their wish list themselves, it’s still a great gift. I am talking about the
Bucas Recuptex exercise rug. Because especially in winter, horse muscles can react sensitively to cold draughts. The fine stainless steel weave of the Recuptex material ensures that the body's own heat is reflected, as well as stimulating blood circulation and oxygen flow in the body. This helps with recovery after injury, but also as a preventative support while warming up and regenerating muscles while riding.
Well, have I been able to inspire you a little? If you are not sure what the right gift could be, I can still warmly recommend our
Epplejeck gift voucher. A gift with 100% satisfaction guarantee. This way, the person receiving the gift can choose their favourite item from our assortment of over 32,000 items from more than 135 brands.
I wish you a wonderful holiday season! 🎅🏻
